Baby Lulu and little man Gus

A few weeks ago I spent a lovely morning with baby Lulu and little Gus. Last I saw them Gus was very shy and baby Lulu was still in Mom's belly. I just love coming back to spend time with families after seeing them before the baby is born. Its amazing how fast these kiddos grow up, I now understand what all the grown ups would say when I was little and how big I had gotten.

Lulu just loves to hang out, she is such a pleasant baby.
Gus getting big, in his new favorite jammies coloring some dinosaurs.
Adorable baby Lulu, seriously a heart melter.
Gus is such a good big brother, and one of the most polite little boys I have ever met.
Bath time! I adore Lulu in this shot and I also enjoy Gus in the back not wanting his hair washed.

Changing table moments are some of my favorite. I love the interaction with Lulu and Dad.
Isn't this one just so cozy?

What a great looking family.

This child is just too adorable for words.

Gus enjoying his whirly pop, courtesy of yours truly. These pops have saved the day on more than one occasion now! They also make fun photos.
Love Lulu's little furry vest.
We went to the playground for a bit, played a little and then the wind really picked up and it got super cold! I captured some fun moments on the swings though.
Lulu got to swing a little by herself too.
I had such a fun morning! You guys were great and your children an absolute pleasure to photograph.

We are officially in the new house!

We are all moved in, not unpacked. We spent our first night here at the new house on Saturday and I spent a good portion of the day trying to get the kitchen unpacked yesterday. I feel like I hardly made a dent. Its hard coming from a bigger kitchen to a smaller kitchen so I have all these half empty boxes of glasses and plates that have to be repacked because we have no room to put everything in the cabinets. We have suit cases and boxes of clothes everywhere, we did get a new couch and its just lovely. We can finally have people over to sit comfortably and in style! I must get my office somewhat unpacked today as you can see from the photo below my current setup is just not going to do it. I need a new desk, I want one with drawers and with a slider for the keyboard so I don't have to have my keyboard on the desk, not to mention having it lower is just better for posture etc.. If you have any ideas on where I can go for my dream desk without breaking the bank let me know. I don't think Ikea has what I am looking for.....but I want simple not your moms 80's chunky monkey desk, sleek modern clean lines. I may be going out today, cuz this setup is not happening for me. :) Don is taking over my old desk and the desk I had been using at the apartment is actually our dining room table, so yeah I need a desk.
Happy Monday!

MOVING!

Yes I know I have been moving for the past couple of months. Well this is the last time. Yipee! We are doing the BIG move tomorrow. So excited and so not stressed, does that seem right to you?

We were at the house cleaning tonight and were pleasantly surprised to see SNOW!

Cable is supposedly going to be hooked up on Saturday, which means the office is moving Saturday. It also means that we will be staying there, Don and I work at home so living/sleeping somewhere without the internet would be unheard of. I can't tell you how excited I am to get things unpacked and start settling in for the winter, which I think we will actually get this year.

Have a great weekend! I will be sure to post pics of the progress, if you are on facebook you can see tons of progress in my pics there.

Baby Elle and Little Man Miles

I was so so excited to visit Justin and Stephanie again and meet their newest addition Elle. We have been doing yearly family shoots since Miles was born and it has been so special to watch this little guy grow. My how things have changed in this house since welcoming home a new little sister! They moved away from Philadelphia recently but I was so happy when they wanted to me to come up to their new home in Fair Haven, a stones throw from NYC. I pretty much spent the day with them, which was a lot of fun and I got a first hand look at how much time it takes to get two children out of the house.

Look how much Miles has grown, he is such a little man.

I had to post this, I was very excited to see so many family photos on their walls all taken by yours truly. :)
We had bath time.

This is such an adorable family.
In little Elle's room.
Reminds me of a photo I took of Steph with Miles when he was this age.
Picture perfect!
Justin is getting quite the work out these days. Hauling two kiddos is a lot of work.
The cutest photo of a child drinking milk ever!
Baby Elle's turn for the black velvet!
She is such heart melter.

One of my new favorites.
I had such a great day with you guys. I can't wait to see how much Elle changes over this next year. Give those kiddos a hug for me.

Erika & Ryan Engagement Session

A few weeks ago I met up with Erika and Ryan for a much anticipated engagement session. So many things about the day were symbolic. It was the day of the first part of the last world series game, as we all know it ended up in a rain delay and luckily the rain held out for our shoot. It was also their anniversary and exactly six months to their wedding day. Lots of cool coincidences! We did our shoot in the Rittenhouse area since this was where Ryan proposed.

Check these two out!

I love this one.

We took a few shots in front of the Rittenhouse which was where there families were waiting for them after Ryan proposed. The proposal was a total surprise for Erika but Ryan had the whole family in on it and everyone was waiting for them here to celebrate.
HOT!

They are such a dynamic couple. They really got the hang of working the camera! Erika's eyes are awesome.
And what I totally love most about them! So hilarious.
We found a random chair and decided to use it to our benefit.
Again, holy hotness!
So sweet
This is the spot where Ryan proposed and a frequent lounging spot for them when Ryan lived in the city.
Towards the end of our shoot when we were headed back to the park this guy drove by and asked us if we had been shooting on Delancy, we said yes and then he offered us his roof deck for a few shots! It was awesome because the whole time we were walking by these houses just wishing we could go in and see what they were like and then our wish was granted! Thank you Mark for inviting us into your home an on to your roof! You can see some of those images in the slideshow, it was soo hard to choose which images to feature on the blog.

Erika and Ryan get married next June, I can't wait its going to be a blast.
Thanks guys, it was a blast hanging out.

Ashley & Matt Wedding 10-12-2008

Continuing on with this gorgeous October weekend Ashley and Matt had such a gorgeous day! I have really enjoyed getting to know Ashley & Matt. Talking with Matt you can't help but crack up at his sarcastic sense of humor, he is going to give Ashley many laugh lines. Its funny because I feel like I get to know my couples pretty well and I have to catch myself during the ceremony sometimes if something is funny because I have laughed out loud a couple times. This happened at Ashely and Matt's wedding. Matt wrote a love letter to Ashley for his vows and I will always remember one little part where he read "and everyone is starring at me right now, aren't they?" I know I am taking that a little out of context for all of you who were not there, but I still just crack up and you will see Ashley cracking up as well in the slideshow. Both of them are great writers and their vows have to be some of the best I have ever heard, straight from the heart and full of their personalities.
Venue: Appleford
Flowers: Beautiful Blooms
Dress Designer: Wearkstatt
Bridal Boutique: Bridal Garden
Caterer: Feastivities
Bakery: Cake Art Studio
DJ: Anastasia, I don't have a website for her but she was awesome!
Videographer: First Floor Films, awesome working with you Pete!
Second shooter the one and only Miss Linette. This was our last wedding of the season together! boohoo, we didn't realize it until days later. It was a great season Linette, so happy to have had you out on so many weddings this year.

On to some images and slideshow at the end.

Ashley was stunning.
Flowers were gorgeous! They totally matched the dress Ashley wore for their engagement shoot.
The cake was not only gorgeous, but it was delicious!
This has to be one of my favorite images from Linette!
Appleford has a lot of really cute spots for photos inside, they just did some refinishing and freshening up. I love this of Ashley in the bridal suite.
First look coming down the isle.
Awesome ring shot compliments of Linette.
Matt opened a very special bottle of wine for the occasion and this was the cork.
Matt can get the best smiles and laughs from Ashley.
Hey! You're married!

My current favorite bridal party photo.
Signing of the marriage license. I love the reflections.

You gotta love a couple that can sing Bon Jovi to each other!

Fun shot of one of Ashley's bridesmaids. Here's looking at you!
Ashley and Matt is was such a pleasure, I had a ball, I love both your families and can't wait to come to dinner at your new restaurant!

Beth & John Wedding 10-11-08

The weekend of October 11th was I have to say one of the most gorgeous weekends I have ever experience since being here on the east coast. The whole day driving from Beth's parents to the church and the church to the reception I felt like I was in Vermont. There was no overwhelming sense of rush during the day, everything flowed smoothly and the drive to and from locations was so breathtaking it was therapeutic.
Before I get too into this post here are the extra special vendors:
Dress - Paloma Blanca
Cake - Sweet Jazmine's
Flowers - Charlene Pederson
DJ/Musicians - Chris Thornton
Reception - Welkinweir
A special thank you to Rebecca Barger who was out second shooting with me. We had a great time and I really enjoyed adding her photojournalist expertise to the mix.

I loved that the pastor who married Beth & John was a good friend, he made the ceremony deeply personal and fun. I keep remembering the story he told of how Beth and John first met, John struck up a conversation saying how he was going to bring the fanny pack back in style. Something about that just makes me laugh.

So I guess you want to see some images? Well ok, I think I can handle that.

Always looking for new interesting ways to photograph the shoes.

I love the emotion in this one, these are a few of Beth's bridesmaids.
Something about when a bride is dressed and ready to go!

Beth plays the piano so this was a great spot for a few images.

One of my favorites, I love brides descending the staircase.
This was a bridesmaids bouquet, gorgeous.
Lovely moment and lovely framing during the prayer.
Fun shoe shot with shadows.
I had to include Grandpa. I just love this image and I love his boutonniere.

I have been loving to capture the earrings this season.
John watching Beth walk down the isle, seeing her for the first time.
Such cute church and great light.
I love the old feel in this image.
Now that's a big bridal party! They were so cooperative too!

The bagpiper was a surprise for Beth and John.
I think this may be my favorite image of them.
Look at those fall colors! Beth is gorgeous.
Welkinweir was a gorgeous venue, especially at this time of year. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding I highly recommend checking them out.

Beth and John, it has been such a pleasure, congratulations!

Paint

I have been a bit MIA over the last two weeks, I know a lot of you are awaiting some images on the blog. They are coming.

We have been painting like mad at the new house. We are scheduled to move on the 20th and the floor people are coming in Friday, we hope, to start the floors. We are having 4 rooms of hardwood refinished, which means we have to have ALL of our painting done by the time they arrive. Tomorrow is our last day and so far so good. I have spent the last two days at the house, 8 and 12 hour days. Trim takes forever to prime and paint especially since all but two rooms had dark trim, add in a chair rail in every room and you get a ton of work! Its nice to see things coming along so I thought I would share.

This is what will be the dining room. I forgot to take a photo before I primed all the trim, doh, but it was a blueish green color. These photos are taken at opposite ends of the room.
This is what will be the living room, again forgot to take a photo before I primed the trim it was a dark burgundy. The finished image is before we went over with a second coat of paint.
This is my office, and is a true before and after. The two rooms upstairs that will be our offices had pergo floors, which we hate, installed over the original varied width wood floors. So we took our the pergo and these rooms of any in the house are the most imperative to have refinished. It took me forever to take down the wall paper, I hate wallpaper. I am glad it was just a border. You can see my office is still a work in progress, it will be finished tomorrow.
Last but not least is Don's office. He was lucky because the trim was already white and I don't think we will need to go over his room with a second coat of paint. Dons office = Done.
I will post images of the bedroom at a later date, its very uninteresting at the moment since its just all white, but it used to have blue trim....

The last house we didn't really experiment with color and certainly not bold color so we have been enjoying this experience. My office isn't too experimental in color but you know I love shades of gray! It will be so nice to be in the house and see it with some furniture. I am just ready to have all our stuff out of storage, all my winter cloths, silverware, pots pans and what not. We only brought two plates, two forks, two spoons, two knives etc... to the apartment so we have been living pretty simply the last two months.

Thank you all for your patience these past two months! Stay tuned.

Matt & Marcella Engagement Session

I was so excited for the chance to hang out with Matt and Marcella a few weeks ago. Matt and I worked together at Drexel, he started out as a workstudy and then joined our team of Facility Managers in the Design & Imaging Studios. I remember when he first came into the office and told us he had a girl friend, he was ear to ear smiles and even blushed a little as he told us about her. Of course we had to tease him a little but just in a good fun kind of way. I had only met Marcella once or twice since shortly after they started dating I left Drexel. Then this summer, I get a very very excited email from Matt announcing his engagement! He wanted me to shoot the wedding and honestly I wouldn't have it any other way! I am very excited for these two. They will tie the knot in January. Without further ado, I know you really want to see the images and slideshow!
Aren't they adorable?
I loved this sea of leaves.
My favorite kissing shot.

We were in Fairmount Park at the Wissahickon River.
Love the reflections
Matt and Marcella frequently come to this spot to hang out, talk and take it all in.

You can just see the love between them. So happy for you guys!

It was so much fun hanging out with you guys and it was a beautiful day for a stroll through the park! I am excited to see you again in January.

Janene and Congrad Engagement

Last weekend I headed out with Janene and Conrad for their engagement shoot. They are getting married this coming weekend, 11-8-08. We had been trying to schedule and e-shoot for months and time finally got away from us! Luckily they live in my current neighborhood so we met up and took a stroll down Kelly drive. I think we spent most of our time chatting. Then hunger set in, Conrad played a soccer game earlier that day and did not eat before we went out. You can imagine how hungry he was!
We did get some great shots, their chemistry together is wonderful and they needed very little direction from me. I look forward to this coming weekend for their wedding.

This one and the image following are a toss up for my favorites.

The colors in the past week or so have really exploded around here!

Looking forward to this weekend!
