Riding the Ducks

So for years now I have wanted to ride the ducks! I have always heard that Philly locals are surprised at how much they enjoyed it. When you see the boat go by on the street and crazy people quacking at you, it seems like it might be a little silly and embarrassing. But it was fun and I learned some things about Philly that I did not know before.
Here we are after receiving our official quakers.
The tour guide showing us the proper way of doing things.
So I learned that Race St. was once called Sassafras St. Now I know about Sassafras Market, I love that little shop, but I had no idea that it was named after the old street. The street name was changed to Race street because it was the street that the horse races would go down, obviously!
I think my favorite part of the ride was going into the Delaware River and being right underneath the Ben Franklin Bridge. It was an awesome perspective of the bridge that you just don't get from the street.
It was a beautiful day on Monday and nice to take the day off and relax after the wedding the night before. I will post those pictures this weekend. Don's mom leaves tomorrow and I won't feel so bad about trying to get work done while entertaining. We have had fun with her on her visit and luckily the weather was good.
